Exploring Aparigraha: The Yoga of Non-Attachment
We discuss the yoga principle of Aparigraha, or non-attachment, and how it can be woven into various yoga styles like Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha. We explore how this principle encourages us to let go of expectations and the need to grasp or hold on to things, both in our yoga practice and in life. We describe how this can manifest in gentle poses like seated forward bend or cat-cow, as well as more challenging poses like warrior three or extended side angle, where we are reminded to approach each posture without clinging to the idea of perfection. The practice culminates in poses like Savasana or Supine Twist, where the body and mind are invited to fully let go, promoting a deeper sense of inner peace and balance.
